But what is NLP? This science was originated in the 70's. It was born from the wish and the need to develop abilities. But NLP originated in a much earlier time, in 1949, from the study of assertiveness. Its developers studied particular people who excelled in their fields, as managers, scientists, trainers, sportsmen, and so on. They wondered: "What is the strategy they employ to win in their field?" By studying them they realized that these people employed some behavioural strategies, of motivation and self-motivation, which could be reproduced. In fact NLP asserts that if only one individual exists in the world able to do a determined thing, we too can do it by modelling his/her personal strategy, which brings him/her to his/her own success. NLP is the study of what to say, what to do and how to do it!
